History

L'Auberge Damhotel is both old and new.
As early as in the 16th century there was a hotel in the same location as today.
In those days, the tavern mainly provided in a butter market.
Merchants from over the whole country came to Edam to sell their goods from under the shed of the "Lancester".
The Damhotel offered overnight stays especially for dairy merchants who travelled from far. Edam was a flourishing town due to the industrious cheese trade.
Still many cheese warehouses can be found in Edam. Situated alongside the romantic canals are the magnificent and distinguished mansions. Amsterdam might very well be somewhat jealous of all this beauty…
Come and discover Edam! As "icing on the cake", end your visit with a stay in the recently renovated L'Auberge Damhotel.
Getting pampered is possible at many locations, but getting pampered at a top location is only possible in L'Auberge Damhotel.
